inspirations

in love - 29 more days!

our favourite sunday breakfast hunt with mummy and my sis!

I like to call myself a self-induced-selective-lactose-intolerant person. I feel like puking after some milk. Sometimes i feel the same after tea with milk and coffee with milk. Other times i feel the same after latte and cuppucino. But seriously, give me ice cream, mos-burger milk shake and meiji yogurt anytime. :)

To make things more confusing, coffee and tea with milk drank at the right temperature gives me so much pleasure that i cry for more even when i finished the last drop of it. At the wrong temperature however, i say hello to the puking sensation after 2 mouthfuls. I drop everything i do and try to wash off the bad taste from my mouth.

I think this is like a relationship. When i first started dating Isaiah, i thought everything would be rosy and perfect. In other words, everything also can. But as we progress in our relationship, turning it into a marriage and a partnership for a lifetime, i've learnt that managing the relationship also requires each of us to know the right temperature to do certain things. It takes alot of sensitivity, compromises and most importantly, putting him in front of me. I'm a mad person. Not exactly impatient but when i get caught up in the spur of the moment, i'm led by my inspiration. However, sometimes these spur of the moments don't exactly match his mood or the situation his' in. When this happens, my expected happy reaction turns into a sour one.. and sometimes (ok, many times), a tiff.

I'm no expert. Still pretty much led by the spur of the moment inspirations. Still a young one learning the ropes. But i know with God, He makes everything beautiful.

It's 29 more days to the wedding. And i'm blissfully happy in the midst of the madness. :)

p.s. Thank God for granting my leave! woooots!

60 days roses :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

A very sweet boy gave this huge bouquet to me ( 1 rose for each day we are from the wedding) one day :)

Words can't suffice how i felt, but if i were to summarise it succinctly, he made me a very very very very very very happy girl... *grins from ear to ear*

We are officially 35 days from the big day!

Many months ago, when the full swing of wedding planning has yet to start, i had this grand plan where everything will be more or less finalize 3 months before the wedding. Then, i really didn't know how i would feel at this moment. The only thing i was certain was that i would be more or less ready.

Heheee. How wrong. But i figured it doesn't matter. I love doing all the knick knacks and making people around me go super nervous at my fabulous timeline. :P But seriously, it's been tough juggling work, especially when crunch time just passed. Thank God i survived! And more importantly, thank God for friends and people around who have been so incredibly kind. God Himself has been so great; everywhere we turn, we seem to always find a miracle waiting for us. Like a little surprise :)

For some reason, i've been reluctant to post the countdown on my msn nick. But i figured that there's no better time than now to do it. So here goes people, it's 35 days to the big day.... and till the next time i count.. its XX number of days :)

Have a blessed Sunday :)

Sneak Preview to Bartley Christian Church

Firstly, we have to say that it's only by God's blessings and grace, as well as wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ that we managed to get such a lovely place for the wedding.

We initially booked our mother-church.Unfortunately, as it underwent renovation not long after we made an agreement to use its premises, the place would not be ready for our wedding. While it wasn't entirely impossible to hold it there, it would look rather unsightly i guess.

So in came brother jon and brother ocx and a few other kind souls who introduced churches to us. Jon helped to call Bartley to see if it's possible. We were emailing alittle here and there, cos timing was a constrain... and meanwhile we held our unabated breaths, hoping for the best.

One fine day, Isaiah and myself were sleeping in the car (tooo tired) after a wedding when suddenly his phone rang. It was uncle sam from Bartley, asking us if we would like to go down to see the premise. And both of us did a silent 'yes!'... hip hip horray! And the rest i say, would be history.

Isn't God wonderful? Such a beautiful and sparkling new place :)

Welcome to Bartley Christian Church :)

This is where we'll seal the deal..

And in case i get cold feet, i found my escape route

This is where i'll escape to to grab some good food by CJS

And i were to eat so much till the gown bursts, i know there's always soccer to work out on :)

Check out the glee on his face!

And when all is said and done, just pop out of Bartley, hop on the circle line and head to wherever you want. Remember to take the NEL to Dhoby Ghaut, change at Orchard for the dinner reception at Four Seasons the next day! :)

Each time i look at this picture, i have this compulsion to tilt my head :P

Praise God for taking care of us :)

Mr and Mrs Das :)

Some of you may know this, that Isaiah has a mixed heritage and one of them would be his Indian blood :) Some time ago, i toyed with the idea of wearing a sari to the wedding and shared it with him. Being the proactive person that he is, he brought his mum down to Little India to buy the male version of it!

Intricate detailings

Mother and son moment

Thought he looks handsome here :) hee

And then it was my turn to look around. In fact, i went to Little India twice; once with Isaiah and Aunty Pam and the second time with my colleagues. This shows how indecisive i am. Hhahaha!.. And such wonderful people i have around me :)

First outfit at Sheetal

Second Outfit at the Deepavali Bazaar

Third Outfit at the bazaar

So colourful!

Multitude of dazzling colours!

So are we really wearing the Indian traditional costume? :) I'll leave it to your imaginations... till the actual wedding day itself! :)

kiddos partieeee

The kiddos in church had an awesome awesome party on the 4th of October :) It was so fun that i barged into the event without the official tag :P Parents, if you are reading this, come to our next party! There's games, there's prizes, there's magic... and more importantly, there's sooo sooo soo much fun for your kids :) It practically made me a kid again!

So looking forward to the next partttieeeeeeee lined up for them! All of us are kids at heart aren't we? :)

Our 'guards' at the door before the event begun

hee hee. the kids were blindfolded and fed with a variety of food.
their task was to guess what food or drink they were being fed.

*heart melts*

*heart melts again*

*... and again*

Arent this the cutest pair of shoes?

Enthralled by the magic show

Not that i am anywhere near motherhood, but it does give me a great sense of joy to see kids warm up to me. There were toddlers who were initially frowning away at me, the jie jie (not aunty ok) with the big black camera... but towards the end of the day, they were all smiling and posing for me. I can't describe the feeling, it's just so awwwww.. :)

And then we started goofing around :)

Ladies and gentleman, lesson for the day - always give way! Especially on the roads :)

More photos can be found here. And even more photos both with the church office and me. Feel free to ask, i'll burn you a CD!

holland v and tea dresses with mummy

After much deliberation and recalibrating of finances, we decided to go with Poppy Flora Studio. Now i am all excited for Sarah to turn the beautiful church into a gorgeous one :)

So mumsy and i headed to holland v where Poppy was situated to meet Sarah. I'm so glad mumsy was with me. I sure do love flowers, but i'm a blockhead when it comes to the technical details of it. My knowlege of flowers are pretty much limited to gerberras, roses and baby breaths. Heh. Mum provided loads of useful advice :)

After that, we hung out at holland v for the entire day! Managed to get my tea dress (a black sequined cheongsum) from The Cheongsum Shoppe. Hopefully the sequins will make up for the fact that the dress is black. Heh. It was a tough decision between a cheongsum and a kwa but for practiality sake, the former won hands down. For one, it's cheaper to get a cheongsum; furthermore, the kwa's only for rental. And ermm, i thought i look alittle too funky in a kwa. Maybe because i was wearing my kuku specs the day i tried it :P Anyways, if any of you want to rent a kwa, drop me a note... it's a great store!

So black classic cheongsum to the rescue! Something like this:

Also checked out The Magic Pantry which sells cool awesome stuff. I thought this would make a fantastic and meaningful wedding favour:

Lovely People :)

Some time ago (over a long holiday weekend i believe), we had the opportunity to meet some churchies for dessert on a Sunday night :)

The light was gorgeous... but the company was without doubt, excellent :)

The fierce one eye look
