The Proposal (part 2)

Right after dinner, Isaiah said, 'Alright, let's go home.'

And i went, 'huh, but it's so early. Lets go somewhere to chill.' Then i suggested Kepple bay which the big guy didn't sound too enthusiastic about.

After a couple rounds of 'where should we go', i was officially 'sian-ed'. It's been 3 years and that's the end to the night? Surely we could go for coffee!!

Out of the blue, i spotted a car in front full of soft toys. I immediately squealed in delight. Isaiah too was laughing at how silly i was. Then the outrageous idea popped out of my mind, 'let's follow the car!!' Officially influenced by my silliness, he agreed to it. The decision was to follow the car filled with soft toys until we reach a nice place to chill at.

Halfway through ECP, he took out my bandana and said, 'let's make this more exciting, blindfold yourself so it will be a surprise where the car in front goes'. Since we were in the mood for silly things, i readily agreed. All through the trip i kept asking if the car was still in sight... obviously i totally didn't expect the next thing...

He stopped the car and led me (blindfold still on) through a really bumpy road (i was wearing killer heels. my special occasion heels!). By then i was convinced that he was lying and we were obviously at Keppel Bay (he just wanted to make it seem like it was his idea. hahah). At the end of the bumpy road, he suddenly went, 'take off your blindfold'.

Standing by him, he asked if i knew the place. Blinded by the sudden lights, i turned around and looked hard. The place was familiar ... but i can't figure out where.

When i turned back to him, i saw him on his knees with the ring in this hand. 'Marry me,' he said.

All i could muster after 10/15 seconds of stunned silence was, 'i'm not sure'.

I found out later that he was about to kill me for this response. His actual words were something along the line of... the movies always have girls calling their best friend to tell the whole world. Why is it different? Ha.

Anyhow, i agreed after another 15 seconds of stunned silence. It was a weak and feeble, but still a response that would change my life, 'ok'.

There you go, a brand new world ahead of us.

We were at Prince Georges Park, NUS.

Can't find a picture of the playground we were at. But these are pictures of my hostel when i used to live in NUS.

The playground was the place where my friend and i sat and chatted. The main topic being whether i should accept this guy ... who in 3 years time would be my fiance.

I can't get over how sweet that was. To remember something i said in passing so long ago. And to put in so much effort... Thank you darling :)

The Proposal (part 1)

It all began on the 13th of March 2008. It was our 3rd year anniversary and i kinda bought a dress specially for the occasion. We met at 7.30pm ( i was too caught up shopping with Mum at the Isetan private sale :)) instead of the original 6.30pm at city hall.

He drove us to Eden Cafe for dinner on the pretext that it was some place he went with his colleagues (disappointing to eat porridge on anniversaries ok, but i figured it must be some really good porridge). He did previously asked what dishes i like and me being me just said the usual, urmmm.. Sambal Kang Kong, Chilli Crab. Lol. Not very helpful as i realised later..

Anyway, it was a plesant surprise to arrive at Club Street's Eden Restaurant. It's warm and cosy, not forgetting he booked the corner with all the *gasp!* teddy bears... MY FAVOURITE! :)

My favourite bear of the day :)
Isaiah's favourite - monk bear!

Once we got settled, Clement, the chef and owner of the restaurant came out to have a short chat. I realised that the menu has already been specially prepared.. AWESOME! :)

Bacon with Tomatoes and Portabella mushroom

Caviar with frozen watermelon pieces & mint

Strawberry with yummylicious Steak (medium done)

Lamb (really nicely done and marinated) with mushrooms

Chocolate and Banana cake

Capsicum Cheesecake :)

The food came one after another. It was so good, i was upset that it all had to end. Every dish was special in itself. The portabella mushroom was heavenly. The frozen watermelons with caviar was just the perfect combination. I never thought cooked strawberries could taste this good. And best of all, for a non-lamb lover like me, the lamb was marinated so well, i could only taste the goodness and essence of it. Mhmmm

Naturally, everyone would be turned out by capsicums as a dessert. But fear not! It was interesting.. and yummy. Yes you heard me! For chocolate lovers, the former cake is yummy and extremely potent :)

After meal tea.

Double layered tea cups - never too hot on the outside now!

Us, happy, contented and full :)

Well, that's all for the food part. I pretty much thought we would head to keppel bay to chill and all.. but Isaiah obviously had something else on his mind... :)
