Went for SGX Bull Run with Isaiah. :) First time i actually got up close to the starting line when the runners are starting! Saw these cute white balls with children's drawings on them. So sweet and simple... reminding you that life doesn't have to be that complicated. :)

5 days: almost there! i heart wedding planning.

Day one of my actual holidays and I've gotten a really good rest before starting on more wedding preparations :) The only thing i remember about last night was my mum asking me to shift myself from the living room to my room and Isaiah coaxing me to go upstairs. So sweet :)

Managed to get the photos for the guest book settled today. Emailed lovely Chrissy about the slides. Poor girl is stressed up but i know she will totally rock :) Pretty Lesley finished the program in 1 (!!!) night for us... if that's not talent, then what is? :)

I love preparing for the wedding. It's like waking up to something you love eveyday! :) It's just the jitters that get to me sometimes. It would be perfect if i'm planning a friend's wedding! hahaha :) Maybe it's time for a job change! *coughs. (whispers - anyone wants to hire?)

But i love Isaiah more!

6 days: hello Uncle Sam!

Went down to Bartley Christian Church to get some logistics in order today :)

advance party :)

Yizhen and Roanna are Pros! :) They are super well equipped!

New reception (carnival) location. Watch it transform under the hands of the pros!

Super efficient OCX :)

Thank God for Uncle Sam, the lovely staff from Bartley Christian Church who have always been so kind. He's never without a smile and a kind word for us. Uncle Sam attends to all our queries with such love and generosity that he puts our worries at ease. He's wonderful :)

Just a gentle reminder, BCC is just next to Bartley Train Station (Circle Line). See you guys in 6 days!!

7 days: FOR YOUR EYES ONLY Hen's Night

Of course i won't reveal much. Isaiah's been trying to ask me what we've done or discussed (bout him). Not telling :)

Here's a sneak preview:

Now that i've whet your appetite.... continue to be hungry! :)

8 days: we got the loot!!!

Collected the ROM cert today! :) It's a happy government agency to be in! hahahah.

We had to do a declaration (with our right palm up) of certain requirements before collecting the cert (not withholding info, no false info, nationality, etc). It was kinda hilarious because we were not expecting it. Nevertheless, we had fun.

The ROM officer was a blast! She totally memorised the whole script. :) She was going about doing her paperwork and she would suddenly pop the next word on the script.

Ok i have to admit that i had to try very hard not to giggle :)

After collecting the cert, it was our national duty to take photos outside ROM. Everyone does that!! :) So we went snapper crazy. Or rather, i drove Isaiah crazy :)

We are eloping. Flying on arms like eagles. Byeeee!!

i think Isaiah took this picture to remind me of something... hmm..

9 days: late night discussions

Thank God for friends who love us enough to meet us at 11.30pm at Hong Kong cafe to discuss the wedding program :)

Karen and OCX practically reached home at 2 plus am... when there's work the very next day! Jon and Isaac prolly hit the sack at bout the same time. And Yizhen was smsing me throughout the late night bout the deco!

Not forgetting the 'homework' that's done behind the scenes.

Truely, the wedding is a concerted effort of everyone (all you out there!!). We are so happy and touched each time someone steps forward to help or to ask bout the wedding. Thank you for caring and loving :) More importantly, thank God for YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU!!!!

*kisses and hugs

10 days: i'd fall in love with you!

If not for the fact that i'm waaaay too old, AsherthePageBoy is so totally my type :) With his impish grin and boyish nature, i completely understand if he ends up with many admirers in the future.

It's also especially significant since I practically grew up with Adeline and Asher. I sat through so many chat sessions with Jason and Irene with the two precious sleeping in the backseat of the car. :) When we do have kids of our own, I pray that we'll be as giving and loving as the Tays :)

11 days: gurrrrl freeeens are God's gift to me

I know Peiling and Charmaine from waaaay back! All the way from our very first step in NUS. :) If not for the Arts Orientation Camp, i wouldn't have known where to find such lovely friends from. Peiling was as lanky cheerful babe with looong hair who was always wearing berms and tee with a goofy grin. Char was our tomboyish girl who could be only found in a nike tee and jeans/berms/tracks. And well, i was your typical uni girl with a huge pencil case (only had 1 black pen mind you). I fooled everyone with my impressive note doodling and drooling skills.

These girls have been with me through thick and thin, good and bad, beautiful and ugly, joys, first house, stayovers, job changes, career changes, proposals, trips (well PL you owe us a trip!), USA!!!, etc etc. You name it, we prolly have it. Throughout the wedding preparation, they made themselves totally available to hear my silly whines over and over again, to help in all ways possible and still love me despite how irritating i can be :) Thank you dears.

Peiling arranged for Chicky (you rock!!!!!) to take photos for us in good ole NUS while Char arranged the colours and the props. I only had to look pretty and sweet. Phew, considering that those two girls are naturals at looking good :)

Introducing to you... two members of the Bridal Party:

'if friends were flowers, i'd pick you'

'quick librarian coming!!!' says Chicky

To the guys who found this at the library search station, i bet you were smiling! :)

'Even though we are constantly changing and finding our place in the world, we know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we'll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, we'll be there for each other. '

12 days: note to self - remember to have fun! (love, char)

with this drumstick, i thee wed

Jason snapped this picture during our very first wedding rehearsal. I think the look on Asher's face (my cute page boy!) is priceless!

Recently i spoke to a fren (i'll protect her identity. heh) who is emceeing for a fren's wedding. And she was telling me that this fren was so undecided on most things. For some sadistic reason, it made me feel good... cos i am not alone! Wahahhaa. :)

In the midst of wedding planning, sometimes we lose sight of the reason why we fell in love in the first place. I think CF's comment on how a wedding can be planned in 48 hours actually sparked something in me. As ridiculous as it sounds, its true. If wedding planning brings you away from the happiness that you are going to celebrate, then its quite sad dounch ya think?

In fact, Vincent my hairstylist puts it succinctly; enjoy the moment he says. He was talking in the context of having kids lah (mind you, he has three! wahhhh). But i take it one step back and remind myself that i must enjoy the wedding planning and i must enjoy the wedding.

For all it's worth, i'm going to have fun :) Which brings us back one full circle on having our wedding central on the theme of fun. After all, a gown can be super pretteee, the make up can be $1000 flawless and you can have the slimmest hot body... but take it from one international wedding blog hopper... it's the radiance in the couple's smile and face that brings the house down, any day, any photo :)

PARTY ON PEEEPORRR! :) :)

13 days: list of to dos and wedding rehearsal one

My plan for tonight:

Do up bouquet with mummy (checked!)
Book hotels for honeymoon
Check out colour scheme for church
Select photos

its 2am now.
I think its time for bed.
Hafta be in school bright and early.

LESS THAN 2 WEEKS?!?!?
ahhhhhhhhhh!!

p.s. blog about the funny towel and budget wedding during the wedding rehearsal after i hit my beauty sleep quota.

p.p.s it's a myth that the bride and groom gets to sleep early the month before the wedding. HOW TO!?!

p.p.p.s thank God for lovely Yee Lou from Dreamzworks :) She's such a dear :)

14 days: shopping for a fairy

Went shopping with the flower girl (Isaiah's niece) and her lovely mum, grandma and great grand ma :) Together with the power trio, I had my lovely sister with me... the one i know i can always trust!

I know how flower girls should look very cute with their white dresses and big ribbons, they look so cute and hug-able like that. However, i decided to dress little Emelda in a huge fluffy pink skirt coupled with angel wings and all. With her sparky self and hot pink skirt... i am really hoping for her to bring smiles all around the auditorium :)

Meldi was hopping and jumping around in her skirt. I spotted some small girls eyeing her skirt. One even went, 'daddy, i want one like that girl too'. I swell with pride :)

happily talking to Uncle Isaiah while skipping and hopping away in the dressing room

I am glad we made one small girl a really happy princess today :) Warms your heart like nothing else.

15 days: it's been 56 months...

Ever since we got together, we made a promise to at least have a sit down dinner or to meet up on the 13th of every month. It's alittle reminder to us of our journey together :)

How time flies. We've been doing this for 55 times in the past four years. And this month, we would be celebrating our final 'monthniversary' as singlehoods. This would be the last month that i can call him my boyfriend. Wow! Scary!

In my perspective, we didn't start off too well. In fact, it was full of struggles, pain and perhaps even much tears. Unlike most couples who went through the honeymoon stage, i think i gave Isaiah a 'sourmoon' with my many insecurities. Even though we started off knowing that marriage would be an end goal if all works out well, the young me prolly couldn't see this day coming then. I guess, if not for Isaiah's persistence and God's grace, we wouldn't have today. Ahh, all well ends well :)

Last year, Isaiah blogged alittle about how we met. I thought i continue the story alittle more here... you'll prolly hear more of it during the dinner.

It all started with our trip to Cambodia :) I paid no attention to Isaiah cos i was too preoccupied with playing bridge all day long (and we really played all day long!). Then the teasing started, and i thought little of it. After all, this guy don't talk to me much anyway. Chey, ignore!

During the last day at the orphanage, we were busy taking photos. As i was so very silly, i didn't bring a camera. So in came Isaiah who was taking a photo with a lovely girl... and next came me who desperately wanted a photo. So i hopped in, smiled and snapped a shot. Our friends were teasing how that was a family shot. To me however, i was simply happy that i finally got a shot with a Cambodian kid!

It really all started during the R&R of the trip where our leader Jerry kept teasing Isaiah. He was getting the full brunt of it... as for me, i was just getting weird vibes and giggles from my friends. As i said before, because i was so busy playing bridge, my antennas were not tuned in to the cupid arrows around me :)

This photo was taken during our last dinner there. We had this funky seating arrangement where we sat on one long table facing each other. When Jerry insisted that Isaiah and me sat face to face... with not so soft teasings about dating and getting to know each other better... that was when i knew something was up!

Ok doks, i'll leave the rest to Isaiah to finish :)

16 days: a sneak preview to the dinner reception

A couple of weeks ago, 2 families convened to get their taste buds tantalized :) We were especially excited to try the food at Jiang-Nan Chuun after hearing many rave reviews about it. I was doing a mini debate on whether we should spoil the surprise by displaying pictures of the foodies here and eventually the greedy side of me won over :) So here's a mini preview of what's going to fill your tummies!

they had this booklet for us to write reviews on, how thoughtful!
pssst.. in case u think the menu's it, you're wrong, cos we made changes :P

Happy mothers = happy flowers

the duck is to die for... almost!

I tried telling the table that we shouldn't eat sharks fin, that we should be environmentally friendly. If you know me, you know i ain't that green; but i thought i do my part to save the earth. Furthermore, the restaurant does have pretty funky alternatives that are equally attractive. To add on, I've been reciting this entire speech to Isaiah for the past year.

Well, all these hard work, down to nothing when the table had one mouthful of the soup. One look at the satisfied faces across the table... i knew i lost my case.

sorry sharkies

i super duper love!

And the desserts! Now, this is a dilemma. We were initially dead sure on switching the Chinese dessert to a Western one. It'll be a east meets west kinda thing, alittle like us :) However, after one mouthful of the nice refreshing chilled honeydew sago, we had second thoughts. First we were blown over by the hearts (heee)... more importantly however, it was a refreshing end to an otherwise satisfyingly filling meal.

On the other hand, the chocolate mousse dessert was also to die for. I'm not a mousse fan, but it was so yummilicious i couldn't help reaching for more. The only drawback of this dessert though, is the possibility that guests might be too full to appreciate this dessert.

So how? Give us some inputs on which might be better :)

No dinner's incomplete without entertainment and fun.. here's a sneak preview:

And of course, to all Coca-Cola fans out there, there will be free flow of my favourite drink on earth :) They were cracking jokes about how i would hide bottles of Coke under my gown on the wedding day. Hmph!

Gleeful happiness = good food, good company, silly faces and lovely sister :)

17 days: you are invited!

You know, we started out planning our wedding really early! Lovely Four Seasons was booked in July/Sept/Oct (heh, cant remember) last year. We were sharing with Regina, our equally lovely wedding coordinator, that she must be the one coordinating the wedding for us. And she is! falalalala!! :)

But for some funky reason, our invites are out so late! Gua gua gua!

Thank God for the Save-the-dates which saved the day (pun intended) as well as the Facebook invites (which Isaiah is very excited and proud about). . at least we have people coming to our wedding! Yay!! :) I'm most excited by all the enthusaiastic responses. It's gonna be a gathering of sorts for our many groups of friends. Especially Isaiah's SAJC friends and my NYJC 23rd Council!

We collected our hotel cards from Lil' Art last weekend and our church invites were collected from Dpi a few days before that. Heh! Nevertheless, i must applaud the good people in these companies. Esp Lil Art who had to deal with a crazy me.
Btw, it's called Lil Art cos the owners are Lillian and Arthur (i think!)... how cute right!

So here they are, designed by the superbly talented Tan Peiling :) We have not 1, not 2 but 3 designs. See which one you get!

So if you are interested to get one of a kind wedding cards for your wedding, or for any occasions (birthday parties, dinner parties... or greeting cards for me!), leave me a tag and i'll give you my talented friend's contacts :)

She's awesome, she's awesome, she's faallaalaalaa AWESOME! :)

And... if you are wondering why you are not invited for our wedding, it's most likely because we are running low on brain juices and turning blur. Our bad! Leave us a tag/sms saying... WHY AM I NOT INVITED?!?! and you can be sure an invite is on it's way to you :)
