Daddy's Little Girl

Just a week back, daddy came into my room and asked how the wedding preparations were coming along. I was rather taken aback because my dad seldom asks about such stuff. He's the kind who shows love by buying us plenty of food and ensuring that his family has the best of all to eat :)

Over the years, my dad picked up quite a number of culinary skills. Whenever i bring food from home to school, I'm always so proud and happy to declare to my green-eyed colleagues that 'my dad cooked this last night!'. And they would always go, 'wahhh, really ah!' The feeling is awesome man. Love you daddy!

Anyway, of the many things he said, one thing struck me the most. It's not an uncommon line, but coming from him, i took a step back and digested it alil more. He was asking about my plans on where to stay after the wedding and upon seeing my shrug he went, 'a wedding is for a day (or two for us!) but a marriage is for a lifetime'.

Indeed. Wise words from a man who married the best woman in the world for the past 27 years.

Which prompted me to post up something we went through in marriage prep. On our first session with the pastor (also my uncle), we had (gasp!) homework. It's been awhile since I've been given homework; i can assure you that it is rather weird, ever so because I've been the one giving homework to others for the past 2+ years.

Our task was to think of reasons why we fell in love in the very first place. We also had to recall (or conjure something out of thin air) why the other party did so.

Here's Isaiah's:

And mine's:

Apparently I think i am funny but he disagrees :P And he think I'm in it for the security, but i'm waaay more than that. Hee hee.

I remember when we first got together, i used to bug Isaiah on the reasons why he was interested in me. Needed some form of security then i guess; just in case he said it was because of my brittle finger nails or beautiful handwriting. Anyway, because it was hard to put feeling into words, he always went, 'because you are you'. And when presented back with the question, i had pretty much the same reply as him.

As you can see, it wasn't easy coming up with the list. We struggled through coming up with the reasons as to why the other party fell in love. Partly so because we've been together for some time and some of these reasons gets mishmashed into our daily lives. However, it's important to always keep these in our heart and hence I'm posting it up here so that we remember.

Thank God Isaiah didn't put 'get free rides' as one of my reasons! :P

On a side note, we must be the worst marriage prep couple! We have postponed more sessions than we attended and we've only attended 2 so far. Uh oh - fail alert!

Last weekend was a rocking good one :) When the photos have completed their journey from the memory card to my computer, i'll post pictures of KL up! Meanwhile, have a greeatt restful weekend filled with blue skies. I'm looking forward to my gym sessions, Swissotel lunch and a chance to fly the kites we just bought from KL :)

p.s. it's been 1248 days since we got together... and 106 days to the wedding. Eeks, we are approaching the 100 day mark! Need to start planninggggg.
