Missing Perth in times of madness

Just a quick note to say how much we miss the time in Perth, where work was far away and all our days were happy and gay (hey, it rhymes!). Especially when things are getting pretty mad right now; the days in Perth seems nothing short of heavenly.

This snapshot was taken at Swan Valley, our very first stop of our photo shoot. I remember having so much fun enjoying the skies/wine with Isaiah and being snapped by CF that i forgotten that I've got a camera of my own. This one was a very quick one taken out of the car's window before we moved on to Fremantle for the day :)

Gotten a few things done thus far - bought the Bridesmaid clothe with Mummy and Yiyi, settled their dinner clothes (*yay!), semi-confirmed Bridal Party list, looked at the program for the day... and discovered very funky stuff that makes me want to pull my hair out in frustration.

Ah wells :) In madness, I thank God that we bought this book in Koorong (coolest Christian bookstore in OZ! And also the cause of our borderline overweight bags) that's centres around the verse Romans 8:28. I'm halfway through it (and i stopped for a few weeks.. haha)... but at least the verse is not far from my mind.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those
who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

God's Best

Read this from a colleague's blog. Incidentally, we managed to meet up in Perth - though the time spent was not long enough to catch up. If you reading this dear WL, have fun for us back here in school! :)

Today I heard from a YWAM (Youth With A Mission) teacher tell us about John, a Norwegian, who was in a missionary team that he led to Thailand. One day, God impressed upon the teacher to give a word to John, which he eventually did. So he went to John and said, “John, God gave me this word to tell you. You may think I'm crazy, but God said He has a wonderful plan for you. He's going to make you a great evangelist to the nations, along the lines of Billy Graham.”

John just looked straight into the teacher's eyes, expressionless. Then he said, “Yes, I know. In fact, you're the third person who's telling me this.” The teacher was floored that he had under his mentorship the next Billy Graham.

John continued, “But I don't want it. I want to go home to Norway, work as an accountant, get a nice house and live a normal, comfortable life.”

Today, John has acheived his dream, working as an accountant in Norway, living in a nice house. What a tragedy, missing out on God's glorious, wonderful plan for his life. Are you surrendered to God's best for you?

quick snapshots from Perth!

The world's our stage while we are young. :)

But will we be like this when the lines on our faces become obvious?

I'll be there for you, through all the excitement that life brings...

... as long as you promise to feed me yummy ice-cream for the rest of your life :)

Thank God for an amazing time in Perth with awesome company :) Will blog more photos!

On another note altogether, where oh where did my time fly to?
We are preparing ourselves for a busy time back at work. Hopefully i'll be able to sit down and finally get started on the wedding notebook cum Perth scrap book and the super-extremely-very-long to do list.

Please pray for efficiency and wisdom.. and discipline too :) And since you are on it, pray also for our creativity juice, as well as our administrative juices to start pouring out. heh!

Perth - one snapshot for the ride home

Basking in the sun @ King's Park.
Also can be Curtin's Foreign Student Handbook Cover. :)

Still in Perth at the moment and darling Isaiah's on the plane back home. Same time tomorrow, and Liwen and myself will be headed for home. I feel that I've been away for so long that I'm actually living here. Perhaps it has to do with the memories of Brissy, with Woolsworth, Myers and Aussie currency.

It has been a great trip with fantastic food and much weight gained. More importantly though, we fellowshipped and get to know one another better.

What most important though, was the photoshoot :) CF and Darren were a blast to work with. And i'll never forget their constant reminders, where they will go behind their Canon lenses, ' 眼睛开大一点!' hahaha. Neither will i forget Isaiah's frozen smiles or Darren throwing the veil and racing with the camera's shutter :)

More updates upcoming. For now, it's time to pack and head to bed.

In less than 24 hours, i'll be home bound, tackling the immigrations with my pretty heavy luggage. Perth's really beautiful, but i miss the familiarity of home. :) See ya!

oh my so lovely!

Not the food :)

We had a lovely Saturday walking around with mummy and marilyn before going to the bridal studio for my second fitting. Measurements for him.

This is actually Isaiah's first time in a long while (marriage-time) stepping into the boutique.. considering that I've been going pretty often with Liwen. hahaha.

I first tried on the evening gown and with all the loose parts made tighter, it looks even more gorgeous than ever. I cant wait for Caroline to put on the beads!

We moved on to the bridal gown quickly. It was so huge that i had so much difficulties putting it on. And with the can-can, i felt pretty much as nimble as a can. I needed help putting on the whole dress! *reminder to always wear nice ahems to fittings.

But when it's on, and when i was facing the big mirror... i could only stare. The gown was drop dead gorgeous! It was the dream gown. As requested, the gown was longer and Caroline kindly added in more beadings & embroidery at the front :) :) I later asked Isaiah what he thought of the gown, since he was the one who went 'it only happens in the movies' when i asked him why he couldn't evoke more emotions the first time he saw me in a wedding gown.

And he went, as long as you like it, the money is well spent. I mean, awwwwwww!

So marilyn happily snapped away. She kept asking me to smile but i felt too awkward to do so. CF, all the best! haha. Mummy caught this picture of me giving Isaiah the face while reaching over to catch him. At the split moment, he was actually trying to escape from me. It all looked too Bridezilla! And Isaiah actually uploaded the picture on facebook, only to be reminded by well meaning Su Linn & Eliz that it's not supposed to be seen.

For those who saw it on facebook on Saturday night, you are a blessed one! The said gown was only up for 10 minutes :)

Anyhow, meeting up with CF to discuss Perth locations. If you have any ideas, please sms/call

Loves! Going to mug-mark now. It's only 300++ scripts!

Yes! We are going to Perth! :)

Busselton Jetty

We'll be heading to Perth with some friends and the guys from 1950 Photography. All i can say is that we'd never imagined being able to go this far for a wedding shoot. And to be able to come this far, there's only one thing to say...

All Glory to God :) He's been good to us.

Bridals 80% done - we need to hurry!!

Pictures taken from http://www.davebiesse.com/

We're almost 80% done with our decision for bridals.

It all started off with deciding that staying local was good. We can capture moments and places that were special.

And then something sparked and we decided, hey, why not Perth?
After much hussle with the prices and all, i think we've found something we both like.

Why Perth?
No particular reason. It's just that flights are cheap and its a nice place to begin with. And we all know a good scenery makes the picture nicer. Even though Perth currently holds no memories, since we both have not been there, but i figured that it will soon be a place of many memories. Ahha! :)

Anyway, we need to hurry. If Caroline, our wedding designer who have seen many many many couples, can say that we are 'scary', then we most certainly are running short of time.

NEED TO LOST WEIGHT IN TWO MONTHS.

TWO MONTHS

should we spend the extra 1.5k?

With the recent drop in airfare prices, traveling becomes cheaper and cheaper :) As such, the idea of going to Australia for a photo shoot becomes more do-able. It would prolly cost an extra 1.5k (tickets, accommodations) but the shots would be priceless.

Help us decide? Should we?

Pros:
Nice scenic view
Lovely weather (you guys know how itchy and irritated i get with heat & perspiration)
Great holiday! Yay! (always wanted to go to Perth)
Experience of a lifetime

Cons:
Cost !!!! (which is prolly like 95%)
Must take more leave (which means less time for honeymoon)
Dunno if BS can finish doing the gown in time?!

Well, another thing we would have to settle would be the timing for the shoot. Ideally, September is the best. BUT the N Levels are during the holidays, and i wont be able to get away till Thursday (and i am sure i wont be looking my best too). So that leaves June.. which suddenly seem so near!

God help us make a decision!
CLEAR SIGN! :)
