16 days: a sneak preview to the dinner reception

A couple of weeks ago, 2 families convened to get their taste buds tantalized :) We were especially excited to try the food at Jiang-Nan Chuun after hearing many rave reviews about it. I was doing a mini debate on whether we should spoil the surprise by displaying pictures of the foodies here and eventually the greedy side of me won over :) So here's a mini preview of what's going to fill your tummies!

they had this booklet for us to write reviews on, how thoughtful!
pssst.. in case u think the menu's it, you're wrong, cos we made changes :P

Happy mothers = happy flowers

the duck is to die for... almost!

I tried telling the table that we shouldn't eat sharks fin, that we should be environmentally friendly. If you know me, you know i ain't that green; but i thought i do my part to save the earth. Furthermore, the restaurant does have pretty funky alternatives that are equally attractive. To add on, I've been reciting this entire speech to Isaiah for the past year.

Well, all these hard work, down to nothing when the table had one mouthful of the soup. One look at the satisfied faces across the table... i knew i lost my case.

sorry sharkies

i super duper love!

And the desserts! Now, this is a dilemma. We were initially dead sure on switching the Chinese dessert to a Western one. It'll be a east meets west kinda thing, alittle like us :) However, after one mouthful of the nice refreshing chilled honeydew sago, we had second thoughts. First we were blown over by the hearts (heee)... more importantly however, it was a refreshing end to an otherwise satisfyingly filling meal.

On the other hand, the chocolate mousse dessert was also to die for. I'm not a mousse fan, but it was so yummilicious i couldn't help reaching for more. The only drawback of this dessert though, is the possibility that guests might be too full to appreciate this dessert.

So how? Give us some inputs on which might be better :)

No dinner's incomplete without entertainment and fun.. here's a sneak preview:

And of course, to all Coca-Cola fans out there, there will be free flow of my favourite drink on earth :) They were cracking jokes about how i would hide bottles of Coke under my gown on the wedding day. Hmph!

Gleeful happiness = good food, good company, silly faces and lovely sister :)
